Cranwell Court - Grimsby
Cranwell Court is one of only three older people care
homes in the Lincolnshire area that has been awarded 3* Excellent
status by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
It has also recently been accredited by CQC for dementia care.
It is a modern, purpose built home with
51 en-suite rooms, some with kitchenettes for single
occupancy and two for couples. It is situated close Grimsby
town centre and is easily accessible by public transport and nearby
there are local shops including a post office and a chemist.
There are comfortable airy communal areas on
both floors, where residents can enjoy socialising and take part in
a wide range of organised activities. Some which overlook the
surrounding gardens and courtyard which have the added security of
CCTV. There is ample parking at the front and side of the
building.
Although furniture and soft furnishings can be
provided if needed, prospective residents are welcome and
encouraged to bring in their personal belongings, to decorate and
furnish their flats to their own tastes to retain their
individuality and identity.
At Cranwell Court we pride ourselves on
serving fresh home cooked food that is prepared by our team of
catering staff in our fully equipped 5* hygienic kitchen
(accredited by the Environmental Health
Officer as part of the Scores on the Doors
initiative) and served in our spacious dining room. A varied
menu is on offer and special diets are catered for whether it is
for cultural, religious or medical needs. Seasonal menus are
devised by the senior cook who invites new ideas and suggestions
from our residents and their relatives.
Social Activities
You are invited to join in a wide range of
group activities delivered by the Activity Coordinator. The varied
programme of activities includes Bingo, armchair exercising, art
club, gardening, Music/Sing-along Sessions, Trips out, In House
Concerts to name but a few.
If you would prefer to undertake activities on
a one-to-on basis our activities co-ordinator can visit you in your
flat to help you enjoy your chosen activity.
Independent Living
Emphasis is that you are given every
opportunity to make your own choices and decisions on what services
you use. We will support you to remain as independent as possible
and encourage all links with your family and friends. Our residents
are empowered and supported to manage their own finances and
medication as far as possible.
Our ethos is to promote and retain
independence whilst our highly motivated team are trained to
deliver high quality care. All our staff are friendly and
professional. There are staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
