Specialist Care Services

There are certain aspects of service we provide for which our carers may require more advanced training.  In such instances the carer will receive training from a specialist qualified in this area.  When they have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills, we will deem them as competent to deliver this specialist care and support.

Tasks requiring specialist training include

• Assistance with artificial feeding
• Catheter care (changing bags, monitoring output)
• Assistance with eye or ear drops
• Ileostomy and colostomy care (changing of bags)

Services we will not provide

• Toe and nail cutting
• Ear syringing
• Removing or replacing urinary catheters
• Injections
• Filling of oxygen cylinders
• Tracheotomy care (changing tubes)
• Finger prick test for diabetics
• Any invasive procedures

L&H Homecare do not provide Nursing Care Services
