Longhurst Lodge - Skegness

Longhurst Lodge, situated approximately half a mile from Skegness, was opened in 1985 to provide self-contained accommodation for older people.  The accommodation consists three wings radiating from a central communal area providing studio apartments with separate bathrooms and kitchen.  Each apartment has its own front door opening on to the landscaped gardens as well as a door providing internal access to the scheme.

There are additional communal lounges providing spaces for residents to socialise and enjoy organised activities such as coffee mornings, bingo and outings.  The building is surrounded by several acres of well laid out gardens, pathways and a private car park.

Within the scheme is a visiting hairdresser, mobile library and weekly visits made by a fish merchant and frozen meals supplier.  Milk is delivered three times a week and newspapers and mail are delivered daily.

There is a Scheme Manager on duty 9-5.15 weekdays and an 24-hour alarm service so residents and their families have the assurance of help and support being available when it is needed.
