At Longhurst & Havelok Homes
in Skegness, we can provide housing related floating support to
vulnerable people with mental health or related issues.
Support is provided on a short term basis (up to two years) to
enable you to live independently in the community.
Support you can receive.
There are two ways that we can help you. First
we can help you to find a suitable home, and help you settle in.
Second we can help you keep your home and make the most of
opportunities available to you.
Finding a home and settling in
If you have nowhere to live at present, or you
presently live in accommodation that is unsuitable for you,
we can support you to:
- Make applications for housing
- Make decisions about the best housing choices for you
- Make arrangements to move into your new home
- Set up accounts to pay your bills
- Understand the tenancy
- Apply for relevant benefits or finance
- Find affordable sources to furnish and equip your home
- Settle in to your accommodation, community and
neighbourhood
- Make contact with relevant agencies
- Manage your finances
Keeping your home and making the most of available
opportunities
If you are struggling to cope in your house,
for example problems with your bills, neighbours, feeling isolated,
or if you are at risk of losing your home, we can support
you to;
- Look after your own health and safety
- Get repairs completed
- Keep your home clean and tidy
- Plan meals and prepare food
- Use other agencies and keep appointments
- Manage your money
- Deal with letters forms, benefits and bills
- Find social, training and employment activities
