Rent to Homebuy

Rent to Homebuy is a way of assisting buyers, who because of the current housing market, are unable to obtain a mortgage. The scheme allows you to rent a home for up to three years before you decide to buy a share of between 25% - 75% of the property through our Shared Ownership scheme. The rent that you will pay will be 20% less than the rent that is charged by private landlords. So, if the rent is £650 elsewhere, it will be £520 with Longhurst & Havelok Homes (L&H Homes). A saving of £130 per month.

If you choose to purchase the property we will refund the full amount of rent that you have paid during the first 12 months of your tenancy. This is to assist with the deposit towards the purchase of your home.
